On the previous page, I mentioned how that one of our driving passions behind real estate is that it serves as a vehicle for people to fulfill their dreams and callings in life. I thought it would be fun to share one of my family's personal dreams with you.

My husband and I have ventured out into a dream of our own and started a lavender farm and future outdoor wedding venue business here in our hometown in Arlington, Washington. It has been an adventure to say the least! Full of twists and turns and walking into the unknown; perhaps trembling a bit (I'm the trembler, he's the bold risk/adventurer; one of my favorite things about him :) ) but going forward boldly knowing that it is far riskier not to try!

We fell in love with lavender during our engagement almost 10 years ago as we traveled over to Sequim, Washington and picked bouquets to be in our wedding. Lavender has such a beautiful, clean smell that just washes over you like freshly hung linen refreshing all that is in need of refreshing! ‘Lavare’, the Latin root of lavender literally means "to wash" and I have always appreciated the beauty in that.

We started our newly wed journey mostly making moves to get out of debt and build a healthy foundation. It was in that time frame that we lived in many different homes and rentals and with in-laws trying to see our way into the future. It was also during this time that we had three beautiful boys who now in addition have a love for lavender farming in their own unique ways : ).

We physically went through the home search process for about two full years before we found our home in Arlington. When we ventured onto the property it didn't look like much, even a little frightful and risky. There were no beaming signs to step forward but just a simple moment my husband and I had where we stood in the woods, peeking through to the hills with hope that one day this place could be amazing and rest amongst a field of lavender.

We stepped into this venture and today we share this beautiful treasure of a lavender farm with all who want to be refreshed! The name is Purple Robe Lavender Farm. You can find it on Facebook by typing in the search @arlingtonlavenderfarm. We currently have a darling farm store filled with lavender products we make at the farm and about 1,800 plus lavender plants getting ready to bloom again this Summer for harvest and U-Pick!

This will be our 5th year of harvest! We take such joy in having people come to the farm and pick bundles of lavender, we are in our element.

This dream has taught us a lot about life and taking risks. It has taught us about working through obstacles and being ok with the "no’s" in life and "waits". We have discovered that a story is being told even through closed doors and disappointments, sometimes leading to making your dreams better than you could dream on your own.

Thank you for taking the time to read. I hope you will dare to dream too because the world needs you and your dreams!
